First Aid Courses

The Red Cross Standard First Aid Course is a Blended Learning Course which allows the participants to complete the Theory part of the course online (approximately 8 hours), followed by an 8 hour in-class practical training and evaluation component. The course covers both the theory and the practical components of First Aid training including CPR- child and adult and AED training.

Location: Sport For Life Centre/145 Pacific Ave/Winnipeg

Time: 8:30am to 4:30 pm with a one hour lunch break (It is recommended that participants bring a lunch as there are not a lot of restaurant options in the area).

Course Date Options (pick one):

• Saturday, Feb 3, 2018 (Registration closes Jan 20)
• Saturday, Feb 10, 2018 (Registration closes Feb 3)
• Saturday, Feb 24, 2018 (Registration closes Feb 17)
• Saturday, Mar 17, 2018 (Registration closes Mar 10)
• Saturday, Apr 7, 2018 (Registration closes Mar 31)

There is a limit of 12 participants for each course and registration must be completed online one week prior to the course date.(This allows enough time to complete the online training). If there are less than 6 participants, we will try to re-schedule a course to a later date, as the practical component requires practice of skills and scenarios in a group setting.

Participants can follow the link below and select the Standard First Aid Course option to register and pay online. Registrants will then receive a link and invitation to the online course.

Certification requires completion of the online theory, demonstration of the practical skills and at least 75% on the written test.

Provincial Championship Survey Results

The results are in! The survey respondents were primarily racers with full UCI race licences. The majority felt that in all 3 disciplines (mtb, road and cx) they were happy to keep the format (age or ability) that we are currently following or had no opinion either way.  Less than 25% wanted to change from age to ability or in the case of MTB from ability to age. This does not include the MTB KOM age categories. The survey seems to confirm that our Provincial Championship race categories are meeting the needs of the majority of our racers in Manitoba. This does not mean that the comments and suggestions will not be taken into account. Each discipline committee will review the comments and suggestions and consider if some adjustments are possible and necessary based on the size of our race community and the safety of our events.

Thank you for your participation!
