In July 2017 Winnipeg will  host to the 2017 Canada Games which are the  country’s largest multi-sport national event.    2017 will mark the Canada Games’ 50th Anniversary as Canada’s premier celebration of amateur sport. For cycling, this means the opportunity to host a National Road race, Time Trial, and Criterium.  In addition, there will be three MTB events (Cross country, relay, and sprint race).

In preparation for the Canada Games and inorder to support the Road/Cyclo-cross race event calendar, the MCA is looking for individuals interested in becoming Road/Cyclo-cross Officials.

Training will take place at the Sport for Life Centre (145 Pacific Ave) on March 28 – 29, 2015 and will be offered free of charge.   Upon successful completion, officials are required to maintain their license by committing to a minimum of 3 events each season.

Commissaires play a critical role in our sport, ensuring that cycling races are held in the best possible conditions and that races are run fairly by ensuring that the rules are uniformly applied.

The MCA is pleased to provide the entry level course for those that are interested in becoming a Commissaire.
