Leah Kirchmann, originally from Winnipeg and our own team Manitoba, will be riding with Dutch team Liv-Plantur (affiliated with Giant-Alpecin) for the 2016 season. Although Leah has been a Pro cyclist for six (6) years, this will be her first season racing full-time in Europe.
Leah is a multiple Canadian road champion (time trial, criterium, and road disciplines). Her recent highlights include second overall at the Tour of California, second at the Pan American Road Championships, Chrono Gatineau, White Spot-Delta Road Race, and third at La Course by Le Tour de France. She also won the NRC overall individual title this year.
Her future goals include the Women’s World Tour (a 17-round series), Spring Classics (potentially: the Ronde van Drenthe, Gent-Wevelgem in Flanders Fields, Tour of Flanders and La Flèche Wallonne Féminine..pending Liv Plantur’s schedule).
2016 is a special year as Leah aspires to reach the highest level of sport– the 2016 Rio Olympics (Aug 5-21,2016). Stay Tuned!
