Basic Bike Skills Community Coach Course (May 14, 2022)

  Community Coach Training:

BASIC BIKE SKILLS – Winnipeg (max 10 people per session)

Please Note: The originally scheduled dates (Saturday Apr 30/22 and Sunday May 01/22) has been re-scheduled due to weather/trail conditions. 

Reminder: The Basic bike skills training course is a full day course, outside, on your bike.

Saturday May 14: 9am – 4pm (or) Sunday May 15: 9am-4pm

  • All Pre-requisite training must be completed in advance to attending the Basic Bike skills clinics (See required courses below)
  • All course registrations are booked thru the Cycling Canada educational portal here: edu.cyclingcanada.ca  (Instructions directly below)

 

HOW TO REGISTER FOR COACHING COURSES:

 SET UP AN ACOUNT

  1. CYCLING CANADA (for Cycling Foundations, Practice Planning and Basic Bike Skills)
    • Courses are posted to the Cycling Canada’s Learning Management hub. Login Url (Address) here: https://edu.cyclingcanada.ca
    • If you do not already have an account you will need to set one up.    Click “Register” and then set-up an account with username and password. Save your username/password somewhere you can find it for future registrations.
    • Once you have set-up an account you will receive a no reply email confirmation from Cycling Canada confirming your account.
  2. NCCP – Coach.ca (Making Ethical Decisions and Emergency Action Plan)
    • Courses are posted to Online Learning and Calendar section of the Coach.ca site. Login Url (Address) here: https://edu.cyclingcanada.ca
    • If you do not already have an account, you will need to set one up.    Click “Don’t have an NCCP#? Create one now!”

 REGISTER FOR THE COURSE

  1. CYCLING CANADA
    • Login here : https://edu.cyclingcanada.ca
    • Select “Course & Webinar Listing” to the left
    • Under Course & Webinar Listing click the “Province” dropdown arrow and select Manitoba.  This will provide all virtual/in-person and online courses available:
      • Cycling Foundations
      • Practice Planning
      • Basic Bike Skills
  2. NCCP THE LOCKER – Coach.ca

 

 

THE PRE-REQUISITES FOR BASIC BIKE SKILLS ARE:

  1. Cycling Foundations eLearning (1 hour on your own) $15:
  2. NCCP Making Ethical Decisions course and online Evaluation (4 hours, Online, facilitator lead) $40:
    • Register here:  https://thelocker.coach.ca/onlinelearning#MED-E (check the Calendar for available courses)
    • Pre-requisites: Cycling Foundations eLearning
    • This course is sport generic so coaches may have taken it before with another sport and it is honored in cycling
  3. NCCP Emergency Action Plan (15 mins, on your own) No Cost
  4. Practice Planning (2 x 2 hours – Online, facilitator lead) $45
    • Pre-requisites: Cycling Foundations eLearning, NCCP Making Ethical Decisions, NCCP Emergency Action Plan

  5. Basic Bike Skills (6 hours – In Person, facilitator lead) $60
    • Pre-requisites: Cycling Foundations eLearning, NCCP Making Ethical Decisions, NCCP Emergency Action Plan, Practice Planning
  6. RESCPECT IN SPORT – a Sport Manitoba Requirement. This course is sport generic so coaches may have taken it before with another sport and it is honored in cycling
