Bike To The Beach – Recreation Charity Ride Event

Bike to the Beach is an annual charity cycling event hosted by the Lake Winnipeg Foundation, bringing riders together to support a healthy future for Lake Winnipeg.

Taking place on Friday, August 7, 2026, participants will ride from Winnipeg to Victoria Beach — a challenging and rewarding journey of up to 130 kilometres in support of evidence-based freshwater advocacy and efforts to reduce phosphorus pollution in the lake.

More than just a ride, Bike to the Beach is a growing community fundraiser that celebrates endurance, environmental stewardship, and collective action for one of Manitoba’s most important natural resources.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

  1. Rest Stop assistants: 3 locations:

Birds Hill Park

Beausejour

Sherwood Forest Grocery

Tasks:

Facilitating hydration, nutrition and cooling, and having fun with riders
Directing cyclists into the rest stop from access roads
Being on the lookout for any rider in need of medical assistance (e.g., heat stroke)

2. Driving a pilot vehicle:

Following behind a group of riders on the road to ensure their safety/assist in case of emergency

Lake Winnipeg Foundation will provide further details. Drivers will be compensated with a $30 gas card

  1. Assisting at the event windup in Victoria Beach

Setup and teardown
Directing traffic, minding bike parking, etc.
Food service, water, hydration etc.
