Celebrating Moni's 20 Years of Dedication to Cycling!

We are thrilled to shine a spotlight on Moni, a true cycling enthusiast and a force of nature in our community. Over the last two decades, Moni has dedicated herself to various roles within the cycling world, leaving her mark on the sport and the lives she has touched. Moni’s journey in cycling spans a multitude of roles – from Commissaire to coach, learning facilitator, race organizer, and club leader. Her unwavering commitment and versatility have made her a pillar of support for cyclists of all ages and skill levels.
In 2003, Moni embarked on her MTB journey, quickly transitioning to Commissaire the following year. Her expertise expanded beyond the mountain bike trails to embrace Road and Cyclocross, showcasing her versatility and dedication to promoting diverse cycling disciplines. Moni has expressed the highlights of being a Commissaire included officiating at several MB Summer Games, the Cyclocross Nationals, the Canada Games, and most recently the World Police Games.
Moni exemplifies unwavering dedication to the sport of cycling through her extensive volunteer work and commitment to nurturing the next generation of cyclists. In 2004, she took on the role of a coach for the Kids of Mud program with the Alter Ego Cycling Club, a position she held with passion and dedication for an impressive 10-year span. Moni’s impact extended beyond coaching as she assumed the role of a learning facilitator, guiding nearly 300 coaches through the NCCP Community Initiation and Ready to Race cycling programs. Her leadership skills were further demonstrated during a two-year term on the board as the Kids of Mud director.
Moni’s commitment to fostering a thriving cycling community continued with her active involvement in the Velodonnas cycling club, where she played a crucial role as an organizer and executive member since its inception. Notably, she co-organized the Dirt Skirt series, a successful race series tailored for women actively engaging in competitive cycling. Moni’s enduring dedication and multifaceted contributions have left an incredible mark on the cycling community, inspiring countless individuals to embrace the sport with enthusiasm and determination.
Moni’s dedication to cycling extends beyond coaching, encompassing significant roles in event planning and coordination. She played a vital part in the Canada Games planning committee for mountain biking from 2016 to 2017. Additionally, Moni served as a volunteer coordinator for Cyclocross Nationals in consecutive years. Her multifaceted contributions highlight Moni’s enduring passion and impactful presence within the cycling community.
