Bison Butte – Coming Soon!

Donate to the ongoing maintenance and development of Bison Butte Mountain bike trails!

Manitoba Cycling is the not-for-profit amateur sport association responsible for the sport of cycling in Manitoba.

Bison Butte is the Mountain bike trails legacy of the 2017 Canada Summer Games competition.  The site is leased by FortWhyte Alive to the city of Winnipeg.  Manitoba Cycling’s agreement with FortWhyte is to maintain the existing trails thru the efforts of volunteers and grants obtained for approved work. The trails are multi-use and open to the public.

Manitoba Cycling is excited to share that Bison Butte has recently been approved as a project under the National Sport Trust Fund – Manitoba Division. This will allow for donations to be received and tax receipts provided to donors to help support the ongoing upkeep and maintenance of these trails.

The National Sport Trust Fund (NSTF) is a philanthropic gift-giving program established through the Canadian Council of Provincial and Territorial Sport Federations (CCPTSF) for the development of amateur sport on a national level. The CCPTSF is a Registered Canadian Amateur Athletic Association (RCAAA) with the Canada Revenue Agency. As a RCAAA, they are able to issue an official tax receipt for all qualifying donations of $20 or greater. Donations may be made by individuals or foundations, however cannot be received by staff.  Tax receipts will be issued at minimum quarterly and mailed directly to the donor.  Donations are made payable to CCPTSF-MB.  Sport Manitoba is the Fund Manager in Manitoba.
