Winnipeg Guide to Sport and Recreation Subsidies
Over the past year, Sport Manitoba has participated in the work of the Recreation Subsidies Committee, a working group formed under the Winnipeg Community Sport Policy. Members of the committee are working collaboratively towards a common vision of sport and recreation in Winnipeg; one that is accessible, welcoming and socially inclusive for all citizens of all ages, all abilities, and all socio-economic backgrounds… a sports and recreation system where everyone can play.
A Guide to Winnipeg Recreation and Sports Subsidies is an important deliverable for the Committee. The Guide is a resource for service providers and organizations working with families experiencing barriers to recreation and sport participation. The Guide provides a description of seven subsidies available in Winnipeg and offers tips on how to access these programs. Three of the programs are provincial programs.
