CX Number Pick-up: What you need to know

Pre-Race Pick-up Event:

  • Where: Brazen Hall – 800 Pembina Hwy/Winnipeg
  • When: Tuesday, Sep 04: 7pm-9pm

We are asking all Cyclocross racers to come to the “Number Pick-up Event” at Brazen Hall on Sep 04 if possible.  If you are unable to attend the Sep 04 event, you can obtain your race & chip numbers for the season, at the first race you attend. Please check-in early on race day to avoid delays.

If you cannot make it to the Sep 04 event,  you will be racing in the same race category as last year and want to keep your old race number, please email your name and number to cyclingmb@gmail.com before 12noon Tuesday, Sep 04. We will do our best to re-assign you the same race number if possible.

Here is what you will need to bring/pick-up:

1) STEP ONE – MCA RACE LICENSE:

Bring your license (or proof of license purchase). You will need to present your license (or proof of) to the Commissaire before your race number is assigned.

If you have not yet purchased your race license you can do so (Here). You will be emailed a receipt  from CCN which you can present as proof of purchase until your license card arrives in the mail. (Note: If you purchase your license online by Monday Sep 03, we will bring your license to Brazen Hall). Reminder: all UCI license holders must attach a photo before your license can be printed.

If you plan to race in the “Open Races” which do not require a race license, your numbers will be assigned to you on Race Day. All non-licensed participants are required to sign/date a waiver on race day (this includes kids races). Waivers for youth under 18 must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

2) STEP TWO –  RACE NUMBERS:

All licensed riders will be assigned new cloth numbers this season.

Bring your old race numbers from last season. We will provide you with new numbers so you will have a back-up set.

If you do not know or have your race numbers from last year, you will be assigned new numbers for this season.

If you will be changing race categories this year you will be assigned a new number series.  Please return your old numbers so they can be assigned to someone else if needed.

Examples:

  • You are moving up from Citizen to Category “C” this year
  • You are moving from Category “C” to “B” or “B to “A”

If you cannot attend the Sep 04 event and want to keep your old race number, please email your name and number to cyclingmb@gmail.com by 12noon, Sep 04 so we can avoid assigning your number to someone else.

Those who cannot attend the Sep 04 event  will present their license and pick-up your new numbers from the Commissaires at the registration desk on race day. Please check-in early to avoid delays.

3) STEP THREE – CHIP  TIMING:

If you want to keep your same Chip timing number please bring it with you (for most participants this number will be attached to your helmet), otherwise you will be assigned a new Chip Number on either Sep 04 or on Race Day.

A big thank you to Brazen Hall Kitchen & Brewery for hosting us on Tuesday, Sep 04th.

Jeremy Wells, has brewed a beer specific for the cyclocross season which will be served to kick off the year starting with Darkcross!  It is a Belgian IPA called the Rowdy Rooster.

It is also Burger Week!  I don’t think Brazen Hall will disappoint!

The Krakow Burger: Brazen beef patty; scallion potato bun; bacon peach ketchup; parsley chive sour cream; potato vodka onion aioli; pickled red cabbage; potato sticks.
