Here is some feedback from a Coach and Manager from the last games to get you interested:

Brad Gauthier:

“My experience with summer games was very positive.  It’s an amazing event for the kids to be involved with.  We get to watch these kids for years and see the effort they put into their sport.  For me to be a part of their lives for those couple days was truly an honor.  For some, or most, this is probably the biggest event they will ever be a part of, not to mention for the coaches and managers as well.  It gave me a new appreciation for the overall benefit of sports, outside of the basic physical activity benefits.

The duties weren’t too demanding, you are basically there to make sure they are behaving and safe.  Leading up to the event was a challenge to get rides with the group as it was summer but most are doing some sort of riding all year anyway, and they, for the most part are better and more skilled than I am any way.”

Cindy Brown:“Who wouldn’t want a free, all-inclusive vacation to a Manitoba destination plus backstage access? Transport, meals and accommodations included, not to mention a front-row seat to impressive logistics of coordinating thousands of athletes! Seriously though,  it is an impressive feat coordinating events as well as feeding and transporting athletes, as a coach or manager you are truly a part of the Manitoba Summer Games in 2017. With group chats, we managed to supervise all the athletes with ease while they took in other sporting events. We even convinced our bus driver to take us to Dairy Queen after our races.”
