ANNOUNCEMENT

Bikes & Beyond Powers Professional Timing at All MCA-Sanctioned Events

The Manitoba Cycling Association is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership for the 2025 season: Bikes and Beyond will be the official provider of the Zone 4 timing system at all MCA-sanctioned events.

Through this collaboration, Bikes and Beyond will ensure that riders across Manitoba experience consistent, high-quality chip timing at every race.

This partnership is more than just a technical upgrade — it’s a significant investment by Bikes and Beyond in elevating the overall event experience and celebrating the hard work of every rider.

How This Benefits Our Cycling Community

Professional timing for every rider
All MCA events will feature chip-based timing using the Zone 4 system, ensuring accurate, consistent results — no matter the rider’s category or goals.

Live results, real-time feedback
Zone 4 delivers live timing updates, available online and on-site. Riders, fans, and families can follow the action as it happens.

Commissaires and timing working together
The Zone 4 timing system complements Commissaires’ manual timing to produce accurate and trusted race results. Final finish placements — especially in close calls — are confirmed by Commissaires and may rely on photo finish or manual review, as the system cannot detect margins smaller than one-tenth of a second.

More than competition
Chip timing helps riders track their progress, set personal goals, and reflect on their performance — making every ride more meaningful.

A better experience for all
Professional timing helps events run more smoothly, with less guesswork and delays. It supports organizers and creates a more polished experience from start to finish.

A Community-Driven Partnership

This season’s timing is powered by Bikes and Beyond — a long-standing supporter of Manitoba’s cycling community.

Their commitment helps elevate the experience for every participant, club, and volunteer involved in MCA-sanctioned events. We’re proud to have their support as we continue building an inclusive, high-quality cycling environment for all.
