A JOURNEY THAT STARTED HERE 

Adam and Soren have followed different paths through cycling, but their stories share something pretty special — they started here.

They raced on Manitoba roads and trails. They developed their skills through opportunities close to home. They represented Manitoba. And over the years, they continued to grow and find their own paths in the sport.

For Adam, that journey began with Kids of Steel and then Kids of Mud before progressing through the MCA’s Development Program and Provincial Program. He went on to race across multiple disciplines before finding his focus in road cycling, representing Manitoba at the 2022 Canada Summer Games and later racing with a trade team and Cycling Canada’s Junior Men’s Road Team. Now competing in the U23 category, Adam is preparing to represent Canada at the 2026 UCI Road World Championships in Montréal.

Soren’s journey has been rooted in Manitoba mountain biking. Growing up in Portage la Prairie, he was surrounded by a strong local cycling community and started racing at a young age. His dedication to the sport has taken him from local racing to Canada Cups, U.S. Pro Cups and National Championships. He represented Manitoba at the 2022 and 2025 Canada Summer Games, winning gold in men’s mountain bike cross-country at the 2025 Games. This year, he represented Canada at the 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Val di Sole, Italy.

And behind every athlete’s journey is a community — coaches, clubs, volunteers, mechanics, families, teammates, bike shops, race organizers and supporters who help create opportunities for young cyclists to learn, compete and grow.

That’s what makes seeing Adam and Soren on the World Championship stage so meaningful for Manitoba cycling.

Their stories are a reminder that the next generation of cyclists has opportunities to start, develop and find their own path right here in Manitoba.
