Community Cycling- Initiation (CCI) is the NCCP context for coaches who will primarily work with novice\, pre-competitive cyclists at the community level\, including participants in the Active Start\, FUNdamentals and early Learn to Train stages of athlete development. The program is simple\, based on a number of pre-designed lesson plans\, and adaptable to the varying skill and ability levels of participants. The focus of the program is on having participants develop skills which are basic to MTB\, BMX\, and Road\, in a controlled\, off-road\, off-trail setting such as a sport field or parking lot. \nCCI training has two parts – the “Let’s Ride!” CCI workshop\, and a Basic Bicycling Skills workshop. The first workshop provides information on ethical coaching\, participants and their needs\, basic practice planning\, equipment and other important information for coaches of beginner cyclists. The seminar will take place September 18 – 19\, 2015 to kick off National Coaches Week in Canada!\nThe seminar aims to develop coaches using sport specific session as well as sport generic sessions that have cross over from sport to sport. The seminar will focus on the sports involved in the 2016 Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games. Sessions will range from taping and strength training to bike maintenance for cycling coaches and high performance catching skills for softball coaches. \nCoaches who have already been selected or will potentially coach at the 2016 Power Smart Manitoba Summer Games\, along with coaches in Steinbach and the surrounding area are eligible to attend the seminar. Being a part of this journey will make a difference in your own life\, and the lives of everyone touched by MS. \nGear up on Sunday\, July 12\, 2014 for the first annual Turtle Mountain Trail MS Bike. Join us at Turtle Mountain Park\, located 100 km south of Brandon. Known for its undulating hills\, deciduous forest cover\, and shallow lakes\, cyclists will depart from Adam Lake and have the option of following a 10 km novice route\, or a 35 km challenge route that circles James Lake . This is a closed circuit mountain trail that is perfect for those new to the sport\, family groups\, and expert riders. \nOnce you reach the finish line\, feel free to take a dip in Adam Lake\, and enjoy a hearty meal with your fellow riders. \nGear up to end MS and join us for this inaugural event that you won’t soon forget!

DESCRIPTION:R \n  \nReminder: Participants must have a UCI license type.  If you would like to upgrade your Citizen or general membership\, you may do so online at ccnbikes.com \nMCA 2015 Provincial RR race bible \nThe MCA is pleased to announce that the 2015 Provincial Road Championships will take place on Sunday July 12\, 2015 at Roseisle\, Manitoba. Date: Sunday July 12\, 2015 Location: Roseisle\, MB – Highway 245 (see Map in race bible) – Sign in and parking will be located at the local park behind the Roseisle Community Grocery Coop – Address: 56 Main Street\, Roseisle\, MB – Ph: 204-828-3479 – Located at sign are 6 picnic tables with a picnic shelter\, a play structure\, sandpit\, and swings. This is a great place for the family and children to play while you race to take home the title of Provincial Champion. Sign-In: All racers must still sign-in the morning of the race. All riders must show their license to the commissaries. Sign-in will start at 8:30 a.m. and will end at 9:30 a.m. Race Distances: -Each loop of the course is 22km -Riders will assemble at the sign-in area in the town of Roseisle\, MB before a neutral start out of town to turn onto Hwy 245\, after which they will complete the prescribed number of laps. \nGroups \n\nGroup 1 – U23 MEN\, Senior MEN\, Master 30+ MEN\n\n\n110km or 5 laps\n\n\nGroup 2 Junior MEN\, Master 40+ MEN\, Master 50+ MEN\, Senior WOMEN\n\n\n88km or 4 laps·\n\n\nGroup 3 U17 MEN & WOMEN\, Junior WOMEN\, All Master WOMEN\, Master 60+ MEN\n\n\n66 km or 3 laps\n\n\nGroup 4: U15 Men & Women\n\n\n44 km or 2 laps\n\nStart Times: 10:00am for Group 1\, followed a few minutes later by Group 2\, and then by Group 3\, and then Group 4 – Riders will assemble before the start time for roll call and final instructions \nOnline registration is now closed\, however you may still register for the race on Sunday.

SUMMARY:MCC- Cycle Clear Lake
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, July 4th participate or support a cyclist in the 35 km Cycle Clear Lake fundraising event that tackles the trail encircling Clear Lake in Riding Mountain National Park. Proceeds from this event support the work of MCC’s humanitarian aid in South Sudan. \nMost of the 35 km trail is single track through boreal forest along the lakeshore. Riders will cross between Clear Lake and South Lake. Short portions of the trail will be pavement and gravel. The north shore has many fantastic vistas across the lake as the route goes up and down numerous ravines. \nThe trail requires a reasonable amount of fitness and cycling experience. Average cyclists can expect to take 3-4 hours to do the circuit. \nThe cyclathon begins Saturday\, July 4 at 8:30 AM. Participants are welcome to camp at the group site on Friday and Saturday nights.
