DESCRIPTION:The MCA is pleased to announce that the 2014 Provincial Road Championships will take place on Saturday August 23\, 2014 at Roseisle\, Manitoba. \n  \nDate:Saturday August 23\, 2014 \nLocation: Roseisle\, MB \n– Highway 245 (see Map below) \n– Sign in and parking will be located at the local park behind the Roseisle Community             Grocery Coop \n– Address: 56 Main Street\, Roseisle\, MB \n– Ph: 204-828-3479 \n– Located at sign are 6 picnic tables with a picnic shelter\, a play structure\, sandpit\, and swings. This is a great place for the family and children to play while you race to take home the title of Provincial Champion. \nSign-In: All racers must still sign-in the morning of the race. DESCRIPTION:Cross Clinic – Monday\, August 18 \nCross clinic is a special\, one-day\, introduction to ‘cross skills open to all U19 riders and racers with an MCA license. ‘Cross clinic’ will both introduce new riders to cyclocross and refresh the skills of returning riders. The clinic will be open to no more than 40 riders. \n Skills in ‘Cross Clinic with briefly include: mounting\, dismounting\, carrying\, corners\, and line-selection.  \n Cost: $25. Cost includes 3 hours of instruction (1230pm to 4pm) and a tasty snack.  \n Registration is on https://zone4.ca/. Registration closes Saturday\, August 16\, at 11:45pm.  \n Location: The Canadian Mennonite University Grounds – 500 Shaftesbury Blvd\, Winnipeg\, MB R3P 2N2 \n As with ‘Cross Camp\, this year’s confirmed coaches are Cycle-Smart Associate Coach\, Shaun Adamson\, and current U23 Canadian National Champion\, Michael van den Ham.  \nShaun has been coaching cyclists for many years and has coached and run multiple clinics and camps for all ability levels. He has worked closely with Adam Myerson and was recently leading a group at Cycle-Smart Cross Camp in Southampton\, Massachusetts. Shaun has raced all over North America and Europe\, twice a member of the Canadian National Team. He has lived and breathed cyclocross since he first swung his leg over a bike.Michael has been a Cycle-Smart client since 2012\, where he quickly developed his love of cyclocross. He has been a part of multiple cyclocross camps\, working with Shaun Adamson\, living with Adam Myerson\, and travelling North America and Europe in his pursuit of excellence in cyclocross. Cycling was his true passion. He won his first race as a pee wee and carried on to race all over Canada and the United States. James had to leave the Manitoba Provincial Team when his kidneys failed\, but even after his diagnosis he continued to ride and train right up until his passing. He was a licensed coach and cycling commissaire\, enjoyed helping young riders develop and loved to watch them compete.  \n  \nIn recognition of James and all that he and the O’Brien family have done for the sport of cycling\, the TT Championships will take place in James’ honor at Birds Hill Park on August 17. \n  \nAll proceeds will be donated to the Kidney Foundation.
