SUMMARY:Mountain Bike - MTB Cup Race Sandilands - Cancelled
DESCRIPTION:“We regret to inform you that the Sandilands Cup race has been officially cancelled.  Despite the course being in operable condition\, the venue itself is currently inaccessible due to flooding and high water conditions on the access roads.  The organizers have sought to find a workaround but unfortunately\, there is no realistic solution.  Other venues were looked into but the odds were simply not in our favor this year.  We extend thanks to Chad Andres\, Brad Gauthier\, Jon Borland\, and Shawn Zayac for all their hard work.” – JP Peters/Mountain Bike Director

SUMMARY:Tour de Glace: Ice Cream Bike Tour
DESCRIPTION:Date: June 12\, 2022 \nEvent: Tour de Glace 2.0 \nRegistration open until June 10! \nEvent contact person: Twila Fillion rec.mbcycling@gmail.com \nGrab a friend and your bike\, let’s go get ice cream!  \n \nThe Manitoba Cycling Association is pleased to host another year of the Tour de Glace\, ice cream bike tour. Registration includes a guided group ride with 2- or 3-stop options to some excellent local ice cream shops for a prepaid treat. This event is open to all\, you do not need to be a member of the Manitoba Cycling Association. Families and youth are welcome to join! \nREGISTER NOW \nThe ride begins at the Forks CN Stage on Sunday\, June 12 at 2:00 pm. Please arrive at 1:45 pm for event check in\, to meet your ride leader and get your ticket to prepaid ice cream. The ride will finish up at the Forks again by 4:00 pm. \n2022 Tour de Glace ice cream shops include: \n\nSub Zero Ice Cream\, 298 Jamison Ave\nMilksmith\, 651 Corydon Ave\nDug & Betty’s Ice Creamery\, 309 Des Meurons St\n\nThe 3-stop group will have an average pace of 15-20 km/hour over the course of 22 km. The 2-stop group will have an average pace of 10-15 km/hour over the course of 15 km. The 2-stop group is open to all youth under 18 who are able to maintain the group average pace. Ice cream stops for the 2-stop group include Sub Zero and Dug & Betty’s. \nParticipant discretion is advised: This tour is packed with dairy and possibly nut-containing calories. Unfortunately we cannot offer allergen-friendly alternatives. If you wish to participate without actually eating at each stop\, or wish to register with a friend\, there is a registration option for $0 tag-alongs (plus $3.50 non-member fee\, if applicable). All riders must register for insurance purposes\, however\, if young children are in a bucket seat or carrier they are not required to register unless they want their own ice cream at each stop. \nPlease note that all riders who are not members of the Manitoba Cycling Association will be required to pay a $3.50 fee as part of registration. If you would prefer to become a member for the 2022 season\, take a look at the MCA Membership Page and reach out to Twila if you have any questions. To be crystal clear: if you are particiapating as a $0 tag-along but you are not a member of the MCA\, you will still need to pay the $3.50 insurance fee. If you have a child in a carrier\, they do not need to pay the $3.50 fee. All “butts on bikes” need insurance coverage to participate. \nTour de Glace 2-Stop Route Map \nTour de Glace 3-Stop Route Map \nThere will be no refunds for this event. If weather is poor\, you are welcome to drive to each stop to pick up your ice cream. Email rec.mbcycling@gmail.com for event inquires or to volunteer.  \nREGISTER NOW \nShare the excitement and tell your friends with our Tour de Glace Facebook Event Page!
