SUMMARY:Coach Clinic: Community Initiation Training
DESCRIPTION:  \nLet’s Ride! Community Cycling- Initiation (CCI) is the NCCP context for coaches who will primarily work with novice\, pre-competitive cyclists at the community level\, including participants in the Active Start\, FUNdamentals and early Learn to Train stages of athlete development. The program is simple\, based on a number of pre-designed lesson plans\, and adaptable to the varying skill and ability levels of participants. The focus of the program is on having participants develop skills which are basic to MTB\, BMX\, and Road\, in a controlled\, off-road\, off-trail setting such as a sport field or parking lot. \nCCI training has two parts – the “Let’s Ride!” CCI workshop\, and a Basic Bicycling Skills workshop. The first workshop provides information on ethical coaching\, participants and their needs\, basic practice planning\, equipment and other important information for coaches of beginner cyclists. DESCRIPTION:Bison Butte trail construction is taking place tonight\, August 2nd at FortWhyte Alive. \nWe will be meeting tonight at 7pm – 9pm on the trail. \nIf it rains we will cancel/re-schedule.  Watch the MCA website for updates. \nWe recommend that you park in the public parking area close to Tim Horton’s and walk to the top of the hill (East side).  If you need to drop tools off that can’t be carried you can drop these at the base of hill. \nIf you are cycling in you can ride in from the Trans Canada Trail. \nPlease Bring: \n\nWork Gloves\nWater\nBug spray\nSunscreen\nHat\nEquipment if you have: shovels and/or rakes\n\nIf you have any questions\, please phone  Twila Cruickshank at the MCA office at 204-925-5686 or Alex Man – Volunteer coordinator at204-792-6931 \nThank you in advance for your interest and support!
