SUMMARY:Taco à Vélo
DESCRIPTION:REGISTRATION CLOSES JULY 13 AT 10 PM.\nHold onto your hats…it’s TACO TIME. If you like tacos\, sunshine\, friends and bikes\, this is probably the event you’ve been waiting for.\nThe Manitoba Cycling Association is pleased to host another year of Taco à Vélo\, the taco shop bike tour. Registration includes a guided group ride with 2- or 3-stop options to some excellent local taco shops for a prepaid treat. This event is open to all\, you do not need to be a member of the Manitoba Cycling Association. Families and youth are welcome to join! \nREGISTER HERE\nThe ride begins in the green space in front of the CN Stage at the Forks in Winnipeg. Please arrive at 2:45 pm to check in and meet your ride leader. All rides will finish up at the Forks Common by about 5:00 pm with the option to purchase drinks on the patio to go along with your tacos. Giveaways will be drawn at the end of the ride. \n2023 Taco à Vélo taco shops include: \n\nFire and Spice Taqueria (66 Donald St)\nLa Taqueria Mexican Street Tacos (1863 Ness Ave)\nHabanero Sombrero (1 Forks Market Rd)\n\nThe 3-stop group will have an average pace of 15-20 km/hour. Taco shops include Fire and Spice Taqueria\, La Taqueria Mexican Street Tacos and Habanero Sombrero. Participants will be able to select their taco flavours at each shop. The 3-stop ride will be $30 plus taxes and processing fees. Participants will recieve a total of 6 tacos. \nThe 2-stop group will have an average pace of 10-15 km/hour. The 2-stop group is open to all youth under 18 who are able to maintain the group average pace. Taco shops include La Taqueria Mexican Street Tacos and Habanero Sombrero. Participants will be able to select their taco flavours at each shop. The 2-stop ride will be $23 plus taxes and processing fees. Particiapnts will recieve a total of 4 tacos. \nParticipant discretion is advised: This tour is packed with all sorts of delicious calories. Habanero Sombrero has an entirely GF and nut free menu\, but our other locations do not make the same claims. If you wish to participate without actually eating at each stop\, or wish to register with a friend\, there is a registration option for $0 tag-alongs (plus $3.50 non-member fee\, if applicable). All riders must register for insurance purposes\, however\, if young children are in a bucket seat or carrier they are not required to register unless they want their own taco at each stop. \nPlease note that all riders who are not members of the Manitoba Cycling Association will be required to pay a $3.50 fee as part of registration. If you would prefer to become a member for the 2023 season\, take a look at the MCA Membership Page and reach out to Twila if you have any questions. To be crystal clear: if you are particiapating as a $0 tag-along but you are not a member of the MCA\, you will still need to pay the $3.50 insurance fee. If you have a child in a carrier\, they do not need to pay the $3.50 fee. All “butts on bikes” need insurance coverage to participate. \nThere will be no refunds for this event. If weather is poor\, you are welcome to drive to each stop to pick up your tacos. Email CyclingForAll.MB@gmail.com for event inquires or to volunteer.  \nREGISTER HERE
