DESCRIPTION:Training will take place at the Sport for Life Centre (145 Pacific Ave) on April 18\, 2015 (full day) and will be offered free of charge.  Returning Commissaires are required to attend for a portion of the day for any 2015 rule/procedure changes. Upon successful completion\, officials are required to maintain their license by committing to a minimum of 2 events per season. We currently have weeknight and weekend races scheduled. \nWe ask the EACH club in Manitoba who wished to host a race have at the minimum 1 Mountain bike commissaire. Commissaires play a critical role in our sport\, ensuring that cycling races are held in the best possible conditions and that races are run fairly by ensuring that the rules are uniformly applied. \nTo Register for the course please contact the MCA via email or phone: \nPhone: 204-925-5686 \nEmail: cycling.ed@sportmanitoba.ca \nCongratulations to Karin McSherry who attended training earlier in March to become a Mountain Bike National Commissaire and Learning Facilitator! Race format is usually cross country but may vary. This is a great introduction to MTB racing in Manitoba. \nLocation: Bur Oak Trails are located in Birds Hill Park. Turn right off of Highway 59 at the Park entrance. Proceed to the Park gate. After you go through the gate (a Park Pass is required) stay on South Drive (veer right)\, the Bur Oak parking lot will be on your right (Lot #7). \nTimes: \n\nRegistration and sign in: 5:30 – 6:30pm (U9 – U13 must register and sign in by 6:00pm)\nEvent #1: Kids Race – U9\, U11\, U13 – 6:30 pm Start\nEvent #2: Elite and Expert\, Comp\, Sport\, Citizen\, U17\, U15 – male and female – 7pm Start\n\nRegistration: Race day\, walk up registration only \nRegistration opens at 5:30pm and ends 30 mins before your event. You must hold a UCI/CCA racing license or a MCA citizen license. \nRegistration & Waiver Forms are available online and at the race site.
