Sunday August 9th:It was another GREAT day for Manitoba at the Western Canada Summer Games in Wood Buffalo (Fort MacMurray, AB).

Men’s Road Race:

Oliver Evans’s early breakaway for more than 1/2 of the road race paid off as he helped his province to earn back-to-back gold medals in the men’s events.  The team earned another podium finish with Kurt Penno taking home Gold and Danick Vandale, silver.  Danick Vandale also won Silver at this event and  the first medal of the Games (Gold) at the ITT on Sat, Aug 8th.

Oliver Evans finished 6th, Mitch Ketler 13th, and Aaron Carter 16.

Women’s Road Race:

The Girls are also holding their own. At the women’s road race, Mary Prendergast finished 7th, Chloe Penner 13th, and Sophie MacDonald and Autumn Rodriguez tied for 14th.
