Thank you Canada Summer Games Volunteers

So many great people have given countless hours of their time to support the 2017 Canada Summer Games, in particular our 3 Cycling venues & events.
Literally 100’s of volunteers came together for each event over the past two weeks and the events ran smoothly due to your support, planning, attention to detail, and willingness to serve the community.

From marshalls, to food preparation, to transport it took an army and the army showed up – Thank you!!!

A special thanks to our Sport and Venue chairs who have been preparing for the past 2-4 years.
Mountain Bike: Trevor Ketler (Sport) and Bill Gendron (Venue)
Road: Bill Ralph and Andrew Paradowski (Sport) and Jim Prendergast (Venue)
Criterium: Rick Yaschyshyn (Sport) and Currie Gillespie (Venue)

In addition to these leaders, there were many other lead positions with several volunteers reporting to them.

The Manitoba Cycling Association would also like to thank the staff at the Canada Games Host Society. Jolene Dupuis did an excellent job leading and overseeing our cycling events. There were many others from this team who were supporting behind the scenes in many different capacities. There will be many legacy pieces that our MCA membership will benefit from in the future. In addition, Cycling Canada staff also provided many months of direct support leading up to and during the games.

It is an understatement to say that these games would not have been a success without everyone’s teamwork.

I hope everyone recovers well. We look forward to the opportunity to work with everyone again.

Sincerely,

The Manitoba Cycling Association
