RBC Learn-To-Play Innovation Grants – Information Webinar September 19th

We would like to invite you to the next Sport for Life-RBC Learn to Play Project webinar, titled “Innovation Grants.” This webinar will take place on September 19, from 1-2:30pm EDT.

The RBC Learn to Play Project funded community organizations to improve the delivery of quality sport programs and implement physical literacy principles. Projects with new innovative ideas emerged and have grown into examples of best practices for quality sport and physical literacy programming in Canada. Three of these projects will be shared on this webinar:

  • National Physical Literacy Alliance (NLPA) — This organization consists of over 40 national/provincial organizations (from grass roots to podium) committed to ensuring all Canadians are competent, confident and motivated to remain physically active for their entire lives. Drew Mitchell, Sport for Life Director of Physical Literacy, will discuss.
  • Learn to Play the Canadian Way — This innovation aimed at introducing newcomers to a number of quality sport programs and multi-sport opportunities while also improving their physical literacy. The intention is that knowing the basics of a few popular sports and activities played at school, in the park, and the community would provide more opportunities to play with the Canadian kids. Carolyn Trono, Sport for Life Director of Long-Term Athlete Development, will discuss.
  • Inclusive Physical Literacy — This innovation promotes the importance of physical literacy development for participants with a disability through various initiatives such as an inclusive physical literacy workshop, a web portal, literature review, how-to guide, Facebook page and webinars. Andrea Carey, Sport for Life Director of Special Projects, will discuss.
