La Course by le Tour de France forms the 12th round of the UCI Women’s World Tour.  It is in its 3rd year now and commences on Sunday, June 24th, 2016.

The course consists of 13 laps on a 6.85 kilometer circuit.  La Course will begin shortly after the 2016 Tour de France wraps up on the Champs-Élysées.  This is one of the most exciting events that takes place in the women’s cycling calendar and will feature the top female athletes in their field, including Manitoba’s Leah Kirchmann who will be representing our Nation at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio this August.

Kirchmann achieved a podium finish in 2014, however last year she was not so lucky as she slid head-first into a barrier with 1 km to go.  Leah is hoping for fast and dry conditions for 2016.  Good luck Leah!
