Canada Summer Games – Venue Chair Opportunity/Mountain Bike

The MCA is seeking a Venue Chair for the 2017 Canada Summer Games  overseeing the venue set-up for the (new) Mountain Bike Course to be developed at FortWhyte Alive. About the Canada Summer Games

The Canada Summer Games are the largest multi-sport competition for young athletes. Featuring 16 sports and number cultural events and festivals, the 2017 Canada Summer Games will be one of the largest events ever held in Winnipeg’s history, and our first Canada Games.https://mbcycling.ca/wp-admin/post.php?post=12822&action=edit#TB_inline?width=480&inlineId=select-slider

From July 28th to August 13 2017, Winnipeg will welcome:

  • more than 4,000 athletes and coaches from across Canada
  • 400 media and broadcasters
  • 500 VIPS
  • 500 Officials
  • over 15,000 visitors

The 2017 Games will be unique given the event will mark the 50th anniversary of the first-ever Canada Games held in 1967, but also to unite our nation and celebrate its 150th birthday.

Cycling will be unique in that there will be 3 venues represented at the games: Mountain bike, Road/Time Trial, and Criterium. Venue locations will be announced once finialized.
