Annual General Meeting – everything you need to know!

The MCA’s Annual General Meeting will take place this Saturday, Nov 23 at the German Society of Winnipeg.

The purpose of the AGM is to get an update on the activities, priorities, and finances of the MCA. We will also be electing several board positions for the next 2 year term. It is an opportunity for our members to ask questions, gain insight, and vote for the leadership that will govern the board throughout the next year.

Time: 330pm-430pm (free!)

Location: 121 Charles Street, Winnipeg. Use the front door entrance on Flora Ave. AGM and Banquet will take place on the “Upper Floor”.

When you arrive:

Check-in and sign-in with Laura on the Upper Floor. Coat check available (no cost). Let Laura know if you are also planning to stay for the Banquet.

Grab an AGM booklet and peruse the material before the meeting.

Agenda & Key motions/voting required are:

  • Approval of Agenda (Here)
  • Approval of 2018 Annual Meeting Minutes (Here)
  • Approval of Bylaw Amendment: Summary (Here). Full By-laws (Here)
  • Approval of Audited Financials (Here)
  • Elections (Here). Directors must be eighteen (18) years of age, or older, and be members of the association in good standing. All Directors will hold office for a term of 2 years.

Only 2019 members of the association have voting rights.

Proxy votes will be permitted from members residing a distance greater than l00 km from the City of Winnipeg. Votes may be given either personally, through vested rights of a parent or guardian and/or by proxy. See MCA bylaws for requirements (#55, #56).

We look forward to seeing you at the AGM…and hopefully for some fun times afterwards. Cash bar opens at 5pm. Mix and Mingle with cycling friends while the fine folks at the German club prepare an amazing dinner. JP is on the music. Twila Cuthbert has prepared a slide show and Gregory McNeil will be capturing the finer moments. We have a great turn out and some surprises (stay tuned)! Awards portion of the evening will commence shortly after dinner. Special guest – Michael Van Den Ham has made a special trip from his busy schedule to be with us for the evening!
